**INTRODUCTION**:
Our client with a National & International footprint is on the hunt for a Dynamic, Experienced **_Operations & Maintenance Manager_**_ _with outstanding leadership and organizational skills to take on the Commercial, Contractual and Operational management of all aspects of operational and maintenance contracts in the region.
**SUMMARY OF ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Monitor and manage the financial aspects of regional Operations including financial; update / forecasts and CAPEX requirements
- Full commercial and contractual management of all aspects in the region
- Define the Scope of Work for each Operation and Maintenance contract in accordance with the contractual requirements.
- Develop and roll out Standard Operating Procedures for each Contract.
- Ensure sufficient staffing with adequately qualified and trained personnel
- Ensure contract execution in accordance with the requirements and SOP’s in order to avoid scope creep.
- Risk management of all contracts in the region
- Continuous review of contract performance contractual requirements and profitability
- Establish and maintain a positive and informative relationship with all clients.
- All Contract Price Adjustment (CPA) management / negotiation as required under the contracts
- Engagement with Business Support division for any operational improvement, TCO and chemical opportunities / improvements
- Ensure that contract margin does not deteriorate through effective management of CPA and all input costs (fixed and variable) and suppliers
- Lead all contract extension negotiations
- OHSACT 16.2 responsible for Operations in the region.
- Responsible for ensuring that health and safety legislation and contractual obligations pertaining to health and safety are adhered to.
- Perform tests to ensure quality of treated water produced.
- Read and understand the ISO9001 manual for the procedures pertaining to the Operations Division
**FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES**:
- Assume overall financial responsibility for the operational / production costs of all regionally operated contracts, including the formulation of budgets and adhering to these budgets, also ensuring that all internal and external resources respect the budgets.
- Approval of Purchase Order, Supplier Invoices, Expense Claims within Authorisation Limits.
- Produce detailed minutes on all production / operational meetings held.
- Keep all operational files in hard copy, alternatively on the Company data server in order and up to date at all times.
- Review and updating of job descriptions for operating and maintenance staff.
- Recruitment of staff, staff rosters, approving expenses and overtime.
- Implementing key performance indicators for production / operating staff and ensuring the role out of these.
- Invoicing the client.
- Ensure adequate and trained staff is employed to meet our obligations.
- Collate information from field reports, inspections and contractual documentation for inclusion into management reports.
- Complete investigative reports, recording details of findings from inspections / observations / tests and forwards to management for perusal and guidance on unresolved /pending outcomes.
- Monitor compliance with administration and reporting requirements and activities specific sequences / provide direction to personnel on resolution of referred problems associated with inaccurate data or information hindering processing in related departments.
**SUPERVISION & CONTROL DUTIES**:
- Coordinate and control the tasks / activities of the Managers, Engineers, Plant Superintendents and their operational teams, associated with personnel performance, productivity, discipline and achieving Key Performance Indicators.
- Monitoring attendance / conduct and appraise performance / output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings / counselling and / or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel.
- Establishing the adequacy and availability of personnel against agreed outcomes and motivating to the immediate superior if deficiencies need to be corrected.
- Participating in the induction program and providing “on the job” training for new recruits and existing personnel to the department.
- Addressing workplace conflict / conduct through the initiation and co-ordination of consultative processes and implementation of specific disciplinary procedures.
- Defining skills gap and training needs and activities, procedural sequences aimed at developing and capacitating individuals
**TECHNICAL DUTIES**:**
- To direct & develop the implementation of company standards and systems and develop a reliable operations database.
- Assess the adequacy of procedures, systems and controls associated with vehicles, plant, equipment and material availability and utilisation
