Plant Supervisor

Develop RO plant maintenance strategy and assure that production assets are maintained accordingly
- Continuously evaluate plant operations for improvement opportunities.
- Ensure that the hand over logbook is completed accurately.
- Sign off work plans, logs, miscellaneous and records accurately
- Efficient control over Utility and raw material usage, to prevent wastage.
- Perform various calculations.
- Assume the role of Section 8.2.I for the water plants
- Ensure all SHEQ standards and compliance are adhered to
- Ensure safety and health, sustainability and quality standards are maintained and minimize incidents.
- Lead incident investigations
- Ensure compliance with governance and compliance policies and procedures.
- Daily UF and RO data logging - Normalized permeate flow
- Ensure accurate RO probing is performed as required and recording accordingly.
- Validation of Analysis and report to the client
- Jar testing for coagulation
- whenever quality changes.
- Weekly collation of production, safety and maintenance stats.
- Monthly OE production information.
- Accuracy testing and calibration of all dosing pumps
- Assist with compilation of training manuals and tests.
- Training, evaluation of students and refresher training for operators
- Collaboration and communication for optimization projects from a technical and operations perspective when suppliers needs info etc.
- Feed, Interstage water quality interpretation, recommendation and adjustments
- Prioritization of daily work
- Analyzing operating problems, evaluating alternatives, and recommending methods, procedures and techniques for resolution of issues.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric / Grade 12 with mathematics and science or NQF equivalent
- NQF 4 or ND Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in waste water treatment plant environment
- An aptitude for science and technology
- Ability to work carefully and methodically
- Ability to concentrate for long periods during repetitive work
- Ability to act quickly when problems arise
- Awareness of health, safety and environmental issues
- Computer literate: MS Word, MS Excel & Lotus Notes
- Shift work required
- Capacity to maintain performance levels in stressful environment
