Requirements
- An appropriate qualification (i.e. National Diploma in Municipal

Policing or National diploma in Traffic Safety Management or

equivalent Policing qualification) and 4 years’ experience in a

Municipal Police or similar environment.
- OR 12 years’ experience in a Municipal Police Service without the

above mentioned qualifications.
- All requirements applicable to be appointed as a Municipal Police

member ito Regulations 11 of the Regulations for Municipal Police

Services.
- Code B license
- Relevant experience or registration as a Qualified

Facilitator/Assessor/Moderator ito applicable legislation e.g.

(SASSETA, PFTC, ETDP SETA, FETC) would be preferred
- Field Training Officer background (FTO) an advantage

Key Performance Areas
- Performs tasks associated with operational planning and reporting

to align crime prevention, traffic and by-law enforcement functions

with service delivery objectives.
- Supervises staff, assists with performance appraisals and performs

sequences associated with time and attendance, overtime, leave

and any other staff related tasks as 1st line supervisor
- Executes procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific

vehicles and equipment, reporting on workplace incidents /

accidents, issuing fire-arms and checking registers etc.
- Delivers on all specialized municipal police functions assigned to

the specialist units of the MPD, such as the Training and Development

function, including the following tasks associated with Quality

**Assurance and Skills Development**:

- Monitor, evaluate and review learning programs, program delivery

and design
- Ensure compliance to relevant learning programs
- Review Lesson Plans for compliance with unit standard SO’s
- Moderate assessments and drafting moderation reports
- Monitor and evaluate ETD processes
- Quality Assure learner portfolio of evidence
