C&i Technician

We are currently recruiting for a **Control & Instrumentation Mechanician** to join our team.

As a **Control & Instrumentation Mechanician** on our maintenance team, you will have the opportunity to work on advanced technologies and equipment in a power station. We are looking for an energetic, resourceful artisan driven by quality workmanship and striving for continuous improvement. You will use your C&I skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure high availability of equipment for customers to meet production targets consistently. You will reside closer to the place of work during standby cycle and be on time for call outs.

You will be working on power plant instruments and control systems and be responsible for their installation, maintenance, fault finding and repairs. Your task will include:

- Read and interpret instrumentation drawings
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance activities as per plant safety regulations, preventative maintenance plans and maintenance procedures
- Initiate appropriate actions to rectify any unsafe activities or plant conditions
- Perform plant inspections and identify obvious faults, defects, and risks
- Repair, calibrate or replace faulty equipment as per work instruction or package
- Conduct fault finding utilizing test equipment, drawings, diagrams, and Manufacturer’s specifications
- Identify problematic, faulty components or equipment
- Report to supervisor any recurring defects
- Perform any other legitimate activities as required
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
- Perform standby duties and attend to breakdowns when required
- Attend meetings, report incidents and near misses to your supervisor or safety officers
- Good housekeeping in your work area

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- Instrumentation Trade Test
- 2 relevant working experience in a plant environment
- Multi-disciplinary approach to solving issues
- Driver’s license (Code B)
- Experence on Electricial Distribution i.e motor testing and electricial fault finding (380V)

**Desired Requirements**
- National diploma
- SPPA T3000 CERTIFICATE
- 5 years' relevant working experience in a plant environment
- PLC Programming
- Programming and fault finding on Siemens, PLC's, DCS PT 3000 (Siemens S5, S7, OR 1500)
- Must have fault finding and commissioning experience on AC and DC variable speed Drives (ABB/Siemens)
- Sound knowlegde of process instrumentation and PID Control loops
- Sound knowledge of field instruments including as pressure switches, DP cells and control valves etc
- Ability to work under pressure and meet work deadlines with atttention to details

**Experience**:

- C&I: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- SPPA-T3000 (required)
