**Core Description**:
Responsible for the management and administration of the Telkom Centres of Excellence (CoE) programme and SATNAC. Setting and monitoring the research agenda across the CoE network, ensuring alignment to Telkom Group's R&D priorities, designing strategic recruitment and programmatic support for MSc and PhD students, and administering the programme’s finances and reporting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Management and Administration:

- Administer the COE programme, including allocation of research funds and facilitation of payments to universities
- Implement and coordinate CoE programme governance and reporting structures.
- Act as the general manager of Telkom Innovative Research and Events (IRE), managing IRE budgets, procurement, reporting, and facilitating audits.
- Lead the end-to-end event planning and delivery of the SATNAC conference
- Drive collaboration with the SATNAC industry organising committee and the technical research committee towards the full conference program.
- Stakeholder Relations and Engagement:

- Lead and sustain relations with universities’ administrative units, technology/IP transfer offices, and Science/Engineering faculties within which CoEs are located.
- Manage CoE and SATNAC contracts
- Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with CoE and SATNAC partners, funders, and sponsors
- CoE and SATNAC Research Oversight
- Lead event management for SATNAC through Telkom’s Innovative Research and Events (IRE) and implement strategic pathways for SATNAC to further strengthen the CoE network
- Facilitate the calls and assessments of CoE research proposals
- Ensure the alignment of the CoE network to Telkom Group's strategic and technical priorities.
- Facilitate collaboration between the Telkom CoEs, innovation labs and internal teams.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of Telkom CoE and postgraduate bursaries, including recruitment, research support, and post-graduation placement within Telkom.

**Required Certification**:
**Qualifications**:

- 3-year Degree (NQF7) in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, mathematical sciences, or related fields.
- A postgraduate degree and/or research experience is preferrable

**Experience**:

- 5 Years relevant experience - technical experience or demonstrable working knowledge of at least one key technology area such as Network Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Next Generation Networks, Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, Cybersecurity, Mixed Reality, etc. and a proven track record of managing and delivering complex and multi-stakeholder programmes.
- Experience working in an academic or research environment would be an added advantage
