The Debt Collector will work within the company to ensure the efficient processing of assigned accounts. Works with customers via phone and written communication to determine reasons for non-payment or slow payments of accounts.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- Collections experience preferred.
- Reviews invoices, status reports, and claims for accuracy
- Data analysis to identify over payments
- Answers phone calls from customers
- Prepares correspondence or invoices on accounts requiring special handling
- Determines list of accounts to forward to the manager if further action is required once final warning is sent to the customer
- Performs data analysis to identify and resolve disputes
- Prepares work list for management review
- Researches denied or disputed account balances
- Prepares worksheet for adjustments to be made to account
- In time obtains management approval on requested adjustments
- Interface with co-workers, management, and other departments on issues that concern and affect them
- Generates reports for management
- Contact clients to resolve past due balances, reconcile payments, expedite payments, negotiate payment arrangements, and develop action plans
- Negotiate debt repayment with consumers. Obtain firm agreements to repay debt promptly.
- Make informed decisions based on consumers’ needs, account balances, and business’ standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for payment collections to ensure all past due amounts are collected while preventing the aging of current balances

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R10,000.00 per month
