Learning and Development Specialist

- L&D Training:
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders and SMEs on training related needs
- Develop the learning programmes once PoC has been signed off. Design & develop learning programmes for instructor led training (classroom), virtual instructor led training and e-learning, as the focus on these are all different.
- Facilitate learning programmes and monitoring how effectively learning has been transferred to employees.
- Implementing Software release for Client Services, with input from the relevant L&D Consultants where needed Dependant on the scope of the changes the Learning and Development Specialist will either expedite the software release training or provide the necessary support to the designated trainer to do so.
- Implement any new legislation, or legislative changes, new products/solutions etc. as part of the L&D team
- Support:
- Formal coaching, upskilling & onboarding of new trainers as it relates to current processes and best practice.
- Knowledge Management - manage the L&D knowledge library (GPS) - update & communicate where applicable, review & improve - ensure that documents are updated timeously (i.e., improving on the current timeline of a change is requested or required
- Assist the L&D leadership team in managing and maintaining the L&D training calendar: making sure the team meets to discuss the training needs, plotting them on the training calendar and communicating the calendar to the business.
**o Coordinate L&D communication**: working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to make sure that relevant comms drafted, sent for review and approval and sent to the relevant stakeholders.
**o Manage the training queries (designated mailbox)**: Making sure all queries received from the business are attended to within SLA.
- E-Learning:
- Instructional Design - Design learning programmes that meet the need of the business. I.e., design a storyboard or proof of concept (PoC), and get the relevant line managers to sign off on this first, before starting developing.
- Graphic Design
- Create multimedia products using a variety of software programs, primarily in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Canva.
**o Learning experience design**: implement learning experience design principles when designing and developing e-learning content.
- Projects:
- Assist and support the Learning and Development Manager with business strategic projects. This would include understanding the impacts, developing and designing the necessary training and supporting the delivery of the training. Ensure that project deliverables are within scope (on-time and within budget).
Qualifications and experience
- 8+ year’s relevant business experience and product knowledge within a LISP
- Higher Certificate in Occupational Directed Education as Training Practitioner (NQF L5)
- 5+ year’s Instructional design experience using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Vyond Animation, Canva, Moodle LMS, SAP LMS etc..
- 7+ years as an L&D consultant or Learning Facilitator.
- Project Management experience will be advantageous.
- Glacier experience would be advantageous
Qualification and Experience Degree or Diploma and the required Certification with 8 to 10 years related experience.
