**Role Overview**:
The field technician is the face of the company when dealing with clients. Providing safe, professional, top-quality customer service must always be the priority. The field technician must be process/procedure driven, but with the ability to work alone & solve problems. The ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule is essential. Completing & submitting required documentation is a crucial part of the job; these include mileage tracking, technical reports, work orders, non-conformance & root-cause analysis reports, and others as required.

**Requirements**:

- **Academic**:

- Technical qualification in electrical or mechanical.
- **Other Requirement**:

- Ability to work on rooftops and heights.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 kgs.
- Willing to travel regularly.
- A valid Driver’s license.
- Preferred sector experience in Energy, Utilities, Engineering, Construction, or similar.
- **Industry Experience**:

- At least 5 years of technical experience.
- Medium voltage experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and MV cable.
- Interpret single line diagrams and schematics.
- Heavy duty engine & genset training.
- Control systems training.

**KPI’s**
- **Preventative Maintenance**:

- Plan, prepare for, and execute activities pertaining to Preventative Maintenance on the power plant assuring all HSE procedures are followed, activities include but are not limited to:

- Substation maintenance as per maintenance schedule. General Junction Box (GJB). maintenance as per annual maintenance schedule.
- Array Junction Box (AJB) maintenance as per annual maintenance schedule.
- Infrared Red scans of panels, AJBs, GJBs, transformers and inverters.
- Inspections as scheduled on substation, E-House, GJBs, AJBs.
- Inspections and preventative maintenance on gas engines according to OEM guidelines
- **Corrective Maintenance**:

- Plan, prepare for, and execute activities and execute pertaining to Corrective Maintenance on the power plant assuring all HSE procedures are followed, activities include but are not limited to:

- Respond to all alarms triggered on the power plant.
- Resolve all trips on the power plant as soon as possible.
- Attend to all breakdowns, do fault finding/root cause analysis and resolve, fix, or replace faulty equipment with mínimal energy loss.
- Diagnose, test, repair and/or replace cables, cable inter-connections.
- Diagnose, test, repair and/or replace transformers.
- Diagnose, test repair and/or replace yard equipment.
- Diagnose, repair and/or replace switchgear and control gear.
- Diagnose, repair and/or replace Engines & Gensets
- Troubleshooting, field service, technical support to other technicians and/or more junior technicians.
- **Problem Solving**:

- Investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical report.
- Generate work order / job cards for onsite interventions.
- **Health and Safety**:

- Always enforce HSE compliance with contractors and team.
- Understand and have knowledge of lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Report any work injuries.
- **Stakeholder management**:

- Work with external clients on plant optimisation.
- Train / mentor interns or team members.
- Interact and handle queries onsite and offsite from clients.
- Record keeping and management of spare part movements.
- Interface with internal stakeholders as and when required.
- Report significate events to Service Manager.
- **Health and Safety**:

- Perform irregular, one time and special tasks related to the department.
- Perform standby duties.
- Perform activities a stand-in for colleagues or supervisor as required from time to time.
