**JOB PURPOSE**:
Consistently provide strong leadership to the remuneration & payroll departments. Develop and implement remuneration and benefits solutions and practices in line with evolving business requirements of the SA Fishing Group and ensure that all payroll processes are compliant with the relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
**OUTPUTS & MEASUREMENTS**:
The incumbent shall be measured on the effectiveness of the remuneration and benefits solutions implemented as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of directing and leading the payroll functions in the SA Fishing Group. These disciplines and outputs shall include but not be limited to the following functional areas:
- Design a remuneration strategy, policy and solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders (evolving business requirements needs to be taken into consideration and adapt as new and relevant information surfaces)
Develop, maintain and update salary scales and models based on best practices
- Implement a job evaluation and grading process
- Implement and maintain payroll processes and practices aimed at ensuring efficiency
- Drive and monitor the implementation of related policies and procedures and ensure that non-compliance is addressed and corrected
- Manage the payroll process to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely salary and wage payments
- Manage timeous reconciliation of payroll and ensure the on-time availability of Month-end Reports
- Oversee and provide guidance with regards to the health benefit offering to employees
- Provide guidance with regards to the management and administration of member additions and all claims (health and retirement, workman’s compensation claims)
- Manage the administration of benefits, including the reconciliation and upload of monthly retirement and medical fund files
- Ensure the correct administration of third-party payments on behalf of the employees, i.e., unions, garnishees, retirement fund, and medical aid
- Provide expert advice to business with regards to remuneration and benefits solutions
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- The successful incumbent must have a proven track record of functioning at a senior management level within a corporate environment with strong knowledge and experience in a complex payroll environment
- Good understand and experience in remuneration solutions and employee benefits
- Experience in a highly unionised production/ FMCG sector.
- Minimum of 8-10 years relevant working experience in a corporate financial environment with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR or related field
- Diploma in Payroll Management and/or Remuneration would be beneficial
- Knowledge of SAGE PEOPLE 300 would be beneficial.
