Box Attendant

Packaging:

- Ensure packaging material is fed into the system correctly
- Ensure correct cartons and correct quality are supplied to box machine and ensure smooth running of box machine
- Ensure that all boxes are ready for use and that the respective material and packaging are prepared and labelled accordingly
- Identify the correct packaging materials and prepare the packaging process equipment and boxes to run any given product. Continuously check boxing, including any defects and reports any deviations / bottlenecks to robot operator

Manually erect boxes when box making machine is out of order or out for maintenance. When required and where applicable, repetitively lifts weights physically (charging, weighing, decanting and packaging)

Operating machinery:
Operates the box making machine and ensures that the machine is full with empty and required sizes of boxes at all times
- Checks for and fills the machine with glue
- Assists maintenance personnel in carrying out minor adjustments on the box machine
- Ensures that the robot fills the boxes with bottles and buckets

Performs commissioning and start up checks and ensures safe start up and shut down of box making machine, robot and equipment

Responsible Care

Ensuring that the EHS and Quality standards are strictly maintained
- Actively participate in constantly improving Plant and individual safety and housekeeping by engaging in cleaning up work area and spillages, get and put away tools, supplies and equipment. This also entails the use of protective equipment as required and proper cleanup when done
- Comply to all safety rules and safe-job practices
- Report all accidents/incidents/injuries immediately to his/her supervisor, no matter how small
- Attend and participate in safety EH&S meetings
- Report all unsafe conditions to his/her Supervisor
- Keep his / her work area clean and neat (Maintain good housekeeping standards)
