Accounts Payable Data Capturer

The position reports into the **Finance** **Team Leader.**

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Capture invoices due to suppliers and data as required by the finance team
- Execute the workflow according to set priorities and deadlines
- Ensure quality and accuracy of data entry from EDI to Sage and Expense GL accounts
- Ensure quality and accuracy of data entries from Global Trade Solutions (GTS) to Sage and credit notes received from suppliers
- Resolve discrepancies and queries timeously through interaction with suppliers, logistics service providers and the Inbound, buying and planning teams
- Assist with the Accounts Payable and Expense reconciliations when required
- Resolve outstanding Request for credits (RFC's) and reconciliation discrepancies
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks required by the AP clerks, Team leaders, Expense clerks and Accountants
- Assist in payment allocations on supplier accounts
- Assist in compiling all International documents required for International payments to be released
- Reversal and allocation of incorrect data points captured via automation or manual processes
- Ensure accuracy of journals captured on the accounts
- Responsibility for archiving of recons, records and additional documents timeously

**Attributes required**:

- Attention to detail and accuracy in a high pressure environment
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently but also be a team player
- Must be computer literate in MS Excel packages and Evolution, Google Suite would be advantageous
- Must have good communication skills and be fluent in English
- Must be able to work overtime when required
- Willingness to support the greater Takealot team to achieve its aspirational goals

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- National Senior Certificate (Grade12)
- Accounting Diploma/Degree is advantageous
- Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounts Payable (Expense and Trade supplier)
- Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft excel
