A renowned high-tech design and aviation manufacturing company is looking for a “Department Manager Moulding ’’ to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area.

**Requirements**:

- A Production / Operations Management degree / diploma with a minimum 10 years of experience working in Composites OR a related industry.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.
- Very strong people management skills, and the ability to communicate across departmental boundaries.
- Must have experience in Composite lay up techniques for Prepregs.
- Advanced knowledge of composites manufacturing processes; Good technical skills.
- Strong Leadership abilities; Ability to guide a team to the common goal; Proactive; Goal orientated.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Requires knowledge in cost estimation for the manufacturing process. (Labour hour rate, part process cost etc.).
- SAP knowledge or similar ERP system.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to achieve business goals and expectations.
- Responsible for development, justification, and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for department planning, coordination of scheduling, ensuring materials are available, and work stations and equipment are well maintained with very little down time.
- Implements and develops manufacturing processes, departmental SOP’s while adhering to all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies, including safety related initiatives.
- Develop and implement KPI’s/ metrics to measure and track performance.
- Optimizes the moulding processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity.
- Central resource for technical moulding expertise to Operations, Engineering, Tooling and Maintenance.
- Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives within responsible functions.
- Collaboratively works with Engineers to identify moulding approach, set quality requirements, and identify design shortcomings.
- Oversees planning for new product development process, selection of resources, tools and inspection methods.
- Practices and maintains 5S standards in the workplace.
- Perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.
