The main purpose of this position is to administer allocated inventory categories from order to distribution within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). Detailed Description Engage in short-term planning and perform tasks against work plans as defined in conjunction with the team leader. - Perform work independently within established practices and given processes, rules and regulations. - Capture and monitor purchase requests, receive stock, capture stock into an inventory system, allocate item identification numbers for stock items and prepare invoices for payments for received stock. - Manage stock item requests from clients and prepare for delivery and/or collection to clients. - Monitor and maintain stock balances on the inventory management system. - Conduct stock taking on a quarterly and annual basis as and when required. - Investigate and report stock losses and/or expirations of stock items. - Recommend stock adjustments as a result of losses and/or expirations. - Ensure that the storage of allocated stock meets hygiene and legislative (Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993) requirements. - Engage with the relevant stakeholders/clients, inside and outside of own department, displaying a service orientation and the ability to convey and explain information fluently. - Diagnose problems, choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context. - Provide regular status updates (daily, weekly and monthly as defined) to facilitate accurate reporting. Job Requirements a supply chain management diploma (NQF 6) or an equivalent qualification ; - a minimum of one to two years’ job-related experience, specifically in logistics operations or inventory management.
