**Purpose of Role**:
The main purpose of this role is to support the AGGP_SA strategy and impact by building, implementing and maintaining AGGP_SA data structures, procedures, tools, governance, and reporting frameworks that produce strategic intelligence and contextual insights to AGGP_SA teams and member entities to inform their decision making and actions. Lead the data and reporting visualisation and system work as it relates to Connecten which aims to provide actionable regional data on the health of entrepreneurship ecosystems in South Africa to key entrepreneurship ecosystem enablers.

**Objectives of Role**:
**Data and Reporting Frameworks, Policies and Procedures**
- Build and implement data governance frameworks that define and make recommendations on best practices for data management and reporting i.e. the collection, transformation, security, storage, use and disposal of data, taking into consideration data and privacy laws
- Build and maintain AGGP_SA data landscape, standards, templates, quality checklists, data dictionary
- Build and maintain reporting templates, workflows, processes, roles and responsibilities, calendars
- Capacitate AGGP_SA teams to implement data governance and reporting standards, frameworks and tools
- Capacitate employees with evolving data knowledge and skills so that their approaches to data are refined based on emerging learnings.
- Hold intervention teams accountable for data and reporting as an outcome of implementation
- Champion a data-driven mindset and culture and provide guidance to teams as required to use data and reports effectively for decision making.

**Data and Reporting Management**
- Define data collection, analytics and reporting software requirements
- Guide design, selection and implementation of a data collection, analytics and reporting solution
- Build/implement data collection tools/systems and ensure timeous collection of data from primary or secondary data sources.
- Maintain databases, data, reporting and knowledge management systems
- Perform data maturity assessments (assess and rate AGGPSA data based on various factors including completeness, accuracy, consistency of data).
- Monitor and control data quality and integrity in all databases including continuously reviewing data quality highlighting bottlenecks or discrepancies and key vulnerabilities in data and making recommendations.
- Track data from report to source to understand its sources and how it is transformed before being reported to guide the design of data templates, standards, rules and ultimately solutions that generate consistent and comparable reports.
- Contribute data intelligence by providing data services, sources, flows and calculation to ensure that the data quality and content is aligned to impact metrics of the Impact Management and Measurement (IMM) framework.
- Provide an overall assessment of the data security (assessment of the state of AGGPSA data landscape, maturity, key vulnerabilities with recommendations for improvement)
- Prioritise reports for design, build and deliver based on prioritisation criteria agreed by Exco
- Capacitate AGGP_SA teams to improve their data and reporting management

**Data Analysis and Reporting**
- Interpret data, analyse and visualise results using statistical techniques where necessary
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Understand, document, communicate and lead reporting calendars and requirement across AGGP_SA.
- Consolidate, analyse, compile and present ongoing strategic intelligence reports that are useful for decision making and tailored to the audience including board, exco, unit and initiative teams. Consolidate, analyse and present AGGP_SA impact reports (consolidated impact performance using Monitoring and Evaluation data collected against IMM framework metrics)
- Produce Quarterly Management and Board reports and the Annual report (in close collaboration with M&E and Communications team.
- Work closely with the Communications team to develop templates and reports that are engaging and user friendly but accurate.
- Work closely with AGGP_SA teams to improve the user experience of the reports and analysis so that it is useful in their decision-making.
- Work closely with the operations and finance teams to produce reports on effectiveness of operations and link impact data to financial data in a coherent and useful way.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Data or Information Sciences or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an M&E position within the development sector
