Country Strategy, Performance and Business Planning

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and facilitate strategic business planning processes, identify and implement category growth and productivity improvement initiatives across CCBSA functions while aligning with SAF/SEABU. This includes identifying and prioritising change initiatives within the CCBSA business, in order to support the Strategy and Performance Director to achieve the short tactical and stretch targets and long-term ambitions to win in the market.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
Practically the key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate Business Planning Processes and interactions to deliver the required productivity levels, partnering with Head of functions and Directors.
- Identifies and coordinates change priorities within the business which includes supporting goal alignment across functions / Group with service level agreements
- Identify and prioritise new revenue growth opportunities and productivity improvement initiatives for CCBSA and agree programmes/projects in order to implement these initiatives
- Identify trends relevant to CCBSA that will direct how we compete and win in the market and grow market share.
- Lead strategic thought leadership across Commercial and Manufacturing in order to create the capacity for innovation, revenue growth as well as category growth.
- Leading process redesign and operational improvement agenda
- Lead research and develop insights, both quantitative and qualitative
- Evaluate and define competitive landscape for new and existing competitors
- Support the compilation of insights in charts / reports / presentations and other outputs to communicate findings to key stakeholders
- Lead workshops to address immediate challenges and opportunities (e.g. competitor assessments)
- Ensure SA system alignment in exploring and exploiting growth opportunities in new market segments.
- Analyse and synthesize external data on geo-political and socio-economic development trends across CCBSA to develop hypotheses regarding the opportunity across our markets against each existing or potential category
- Assess current strategy to determine its effectiveness relative to the fast changing environment in South Africa
- Create and evaluate strategic options in order to accelerate business growth and productivity improvements
- Determine financial attractiveness of new growth areas by utilizing value chain and P&L analyses in order to prioritize allocation of resources to these opportunities
- Develop multi-year business scenarios to establish a planning foundation to assist senior-level management in quantifying the financial impact of business decisions
- Recommend and approve business strategy changes to key decision-makers to ensure business meets its desired objectives, aligned to the Strategy and Performance Director’s mandate.
- Identify key business opportunities within CCBSA, articulate the business case and develop relevant solutions to solve complex problems across the organisation
- Build value based and strategic “win-win” relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
**Skills, Experience & Education**:
Minimum requirement for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or industrial Engineering. MBA or relevant post graduate studies are preferred.
**Experience**:
10-15 years’ relevant experience in:
- Business planning at executive level
- Business strategy and analysis
- Conceptual ideation and implementation
- Project management, preferably acquired in rapidly moving and diverse projects with multiple interdependencies
- Working in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity and competing priorities
