To provide advice and support in practice formulation and associated best practice improvement tactics; enabling the provision of specialist product development expertise.

Job Purpose:

- The primary goal of the Product Owner is to represent the business requirements to the software development team and prioritize the requirements considering the business and architectural strategic intent. Must always be available to the development team to clear their queries and oversee how they are implementing specific product features. Supported by SMEs, the product owner takes various roles such as product designer, business and system analyst.
- Work closely with Scrum Master (also Agile coach) on a day-to-day basis and collaborates with dependent portfolio projects’ Product Owners
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Articulating product vision for Geospatial
- Ownership of delivering the programme/project solution defined by Architect
- Ownership of the requirements specification with the Product Manager with Business Analysts
- Defining Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for different use cases/scenarios of solution
- Prioritizing requirements based on business case/value proposition
- Managing product backlog, including backlog grooming
- Supporting the development team with clarifying and refining requirements
- Providing the objectives for sprint and PI planning
- Driving iterative releases/business value delivery through Product Increments (PI)
- Communicating requirements to developers, dependent portfolio project teams & other stakeholders
- Contributing to defining the programme road map/flight plan
- Participating in daily stand ups with squad, and facilitating requirements workshops
- Agile squad delivery ways of working
- Leading client and colleague stakeholder demos of solution prototype
- Defining testing acceptance criteria/definition of done
- Acting as a primary project liaison with stakeholders alongside Product Manager and Project Manager
- Reporting and drafting project collateral
- Contributing to project governance and reporting
Role Specification
Education & Qualifications
- A technical degree or diploma computer science, information systems, engineering or related field required
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification required
- SAFe Product Owner certification preferred
Experience
- Extensive relevant work experience required - min. 7-10 years - in business analysis, systems analysis, process analysis, product owner roles and project management experience required
- Working experience with SAFe/scaled Agile and Waterfall projects required
- Relevant work experience in financial services/banking/fin tech preferred, other tech ie telco considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle
- General understanding of products, channels, systems, data and process workflows plus and the architectural estate of financial institutions
- Ability to deconstruct problems, think critically and problem solve/propose solutions
- Ability to read code is a plus
- Good knowledge and understanding of user-centered design principles and Design Thinking approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Comfortable working on large complex programmes with multiple execution teams
