**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
To support the strategy of renewal, the University of Fort Hare seeks to appoint a dynamic, decisive, and role model for the position of a New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) Lecturer in Speech Language Pathology in the Department of Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences. The primary responsibilities of the nGAP Lecturer are to strengthen teaching and learning, as well as capacitation of the Speech Language Pathology Department.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/ECI/ AAC with an **average of 70%**(coursework and/or dissertation)
- Professional registration with the HPCSA as a speech therapist
- At least one year of experience in higher education or undergraduate teaching or clinical supervision experience in Speech Language Pathology

**Added Advantages**
- Research publications or successful supervision or successful research grant funding
- Registered for a Doctoral Degree
- Qualifications/courses in higher education teaching and learning

**Competencies**:

- Independence and evidence of academic standing in a field of specialization

- An ability to lecture or at least must have shared professional specific knowledge in a group of people, large and smaller postgraduate classes.

**To be eligible for selection for an nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria**:

- Show an interest in becoming an academic
- Be 40 years or younger
- Show evidence of eligibility to undertake postgraduate study at a doctoral level
- Be willing to commit to placement at the appointing university for the full 6 years of the programme
- Be willing to register for a PhD in 2026

A competitive remuneration package, commensurate with the experience and qualifications, will be offered.
