- As an Internal Sales/Buyer, you will be responsible for handling various sales and purchasing activities within the company. Your primary goal will be to support the sales team in achieving revenue targets and ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials from suppliers to customers. You will collaborate closely with both internal departments and external suppliers to ensure timely order fulfilment and maintain optimal inventory levels.**Key Responsibilities**:

- Sales Support:

- Assist the sales team in preparing quotes, proposals, and sales orders for customers.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide accurate product information.
- Liaise with customers to ensure order accuracy and resolve any issues related to sales transactions.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to drive customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Purchasing:

- Identify and source new suppliers based on product requirements and negotiate favourable terms and pricing.
- Place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate order processing.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.
- Work with the finance team to ensure timely payment to suppliers and resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Vendor Management:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, focusing on improving lead times and service levels.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and provide feedback to the management team.
- Conduct regular market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to identify potential new suppliers.
- Reporting and Analysis:

- Generate sales reports, inventory reports, and other relevant metrics to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues to be addressed.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with various internal departments such as marketing, logistics, and finance to ensure smooth operations and effective coordination.
- Provide input and feedback on product selection, pricing strategies, and sales promotion efforts.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Matric and any relevant further education will be beneficial.
- Proven experience in a sales or buying role, preferably in the Steel sector will be an advantage.
- Pastel experience would be an advantage.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using sales and purchasing software and tools.
- Knowledge of market trends and supplier networks in the [industry] sector is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
