**_ Position Purpose:_**

To provide professional and effective legal advice and support on Business Risk & Legal functionality for all stakeholders on

all Commercial Law, Competition Law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Contract Law matters, while ensuring adherence to

relevant Corporate Governance structures.

**_ Position outputs:_**

1. Deliver professional services in the areas of:

- Legal compliance (interpretation, opinions, policy commentary).
- Drafting, reviweing, interpreting, commenting on and performing remedial work in respect of commercial contracts/

transactions.
- Competition law
- Mergers and Acquisitions
- Advisory services
- Legal due diligence

2. Develop framework to proactively manage the implementation of commercial law strategy for TPT.

3. Implementation of Legal services framework and compliance to the Transnet legal framework, policies, procedures,

uniform norms and standards.

4. Identify and mitigate Commercial and Competition law risks and exposures.

5. Manages external service providers such as external attorneys and counsel.

6. Engage with internal stakeholders from terminals and HQ on an ongoing basis to assist with Legal related queries.

7. Provide training and ongoing development and implentation of training material to improve knowledge of commercial and

competition law within TPT.

8. Development of standardised templates required for drafting commercial contracts across TPT.

9. Timeous and quality reporting for all management Reports.

10. TPT Legal representative on the following forums:

- Alternate at governance committees/ Project Steering committees where commercial matters are discussed.
- Transnet Group Legal Meetings or other Group Steerco.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Law Degree or LLB with admission as an attorney or advocate
- At least 6 to 8 years post qualification experience in providing professional advice in commercial law, competition law and

contract law with good drafting skills.
- Membership of professional body (Law Society of SA)

Preferable: A relevant law degree and admission as an attorney or an advocate with 8 years experience in a commercial and
corporate environment. An appropriate business qualification would be a recommendation.
