**How you'll role**
The Finance Specialist is responsible for compliance, internal audit and Finance/HR projects. The Finance specialist will also be required to fulfil financial/management reporting duties and other finance/HR related tasks when required. The role is a hands-on role, with the expectation that the incumbent can function at both a strategic and detail level. The role reports to and supports the Financial Director.

**What you'll do**
**Compliance**
As a registered credit provider and a company with growth ambitions, compliance with laws and regulations is crucial.
- Identification of applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to the Companies Act, National Credit Act, Consumer Protection Act and Protection of Personal Information Act
- Formulation of checklists to ensure compliance with key laws and regulations
- Periodic reviews to assess compliance with laws and regulations
- Conduct impact assessments for new laws and regulations and guide the business with compliance thereof,Reporting which summarises the reviews conducted with its outcome and risk assessment

**Internal Audit**
Being a financial services business, the internal audit function provides essential feedback to Exco on the control environment.
- Develop internal audit plans based on priorities identified by Exco
- Perform periodic internal audits in line with audit plans that assess the functioning of internal controls, policies and procedures. The testing performed and results of the testing is to be documented in line with generally accepted internal audit standards and guidelines
- Preparation and presentation of reports outlining the testing performed with outcomes
- Recommendations to improve the control environment.

**Finance & HR Projects**
Support the Finance and HR teams by leading Finance and HR projects.
- Process review and optimization
- BEE verification processes
- Technical tax and IFRS reviews
- Other adhoc projects

**Finance**
Support the Finance team with the financial function. The Finance Specialist will assist the Finance Manager with the following duties and must be able to perform the following duties if required.
- Monthly finance close off procedures
- Compilation of management accounts
- Reconciliation review
- Compilation of statutory returns
- Payments
- Financial analysis
- Budgeting processes
- Annual audit processes

**What you'll need**
- BCom Honours (Accounting, Auditing, Managerial Finance & Tax _or their equivalents_)
- Signed off articles training at a tier 1 or tier 2 accounting or auditing firm
- At least 3 years’ experience which includes compliance or internal audit
- Experience in compliance, internal audit and financial management with a credit provider is preferred
- Risk and compliance exposure

**Salary**: R50,000.00 - R70,000.00 per year
