We are looking for a Restaurant Manager to join our busy restaurant in Durbanville. We are looking for applicants with Restaurant Management background and Bar Management experience, who are willing to work weekends and public holidays and are able to run our busy venues with highest standards.

**Having your own transport is a must.**

The successful applicants must have the below experience and competencies:

- 3 years experience as an Restaurant Manager in an upmarket restaurant environment
- Events Management experience is a bonus
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Hygiene

Some of the responsibilities are as follow:
Service:

- Ensure that all guests are welcomed at the door and shown to their table
- Ensure an efficient, quick and friendly service to our guests
- Personally ensure customer contact during meals
- Ensure that the front of house is clean, tidy, organised an welcoming at all times
- Assist with functions and bookings co-ordination

Staff:

- Ensure that a staff briefing is held at the beginning of every shift and that all staff are well informed of any specials, changes or out of stock before services
- Ensure that all staff know where they are working before service and that they have appropriate equipment on their person
- Ensure that all front of house staff are neat and well presented at all times
- Assist with the correct training of all new staff members
- Ensure the continual development and motivation of front of house staff

Administration and Control:

- Adhere to standard procedures regarding injuries on duty
- Compile hours and wine sales for payroll on a biweekly basis.

Operating procedures:

- You are required to follow all standard opening and closing procedures
- You are required to do a daily pre and post shift check list
- You are required to take telephonic booking for the restaurant, ensure that they are correctly taken and written into the bookings sheet
- Communicate all compliments and complaints to senior management

Marketing and Sales:

- Ensure the restaurant is marketed and promoted from within
- Identify ways to increase sale and discuss with senior management
- Motivate staff to become ambassadors

Operations:

- Take responsibility for weekly stock control and beverage costs
- Take responsibility for regular feedback meetings with Executive team with regards to approval of costs, budget, bar, Front-of House any related issues, etc.
- Take responsibility for service according to the restaurant's Service standards
- Ensure optimal staffing levels during peak tourist season, events and festivals.

Managerial duties:

- Take responsibility for setting up the employees shift roster
- Provide Management with a copy of shift roster
- Take responsibility for daily feedback to Executive team on employee related issues
- Ensure back-up employees during absenteeism
- Take responsibility for the performance management of the Front of House and Bar employees
- Take responsibility for disciplining employees after discussion with HR
- Take responsibility for the skills development of Front-of-House and Bar employees
- Manage wine sales and ensure staff are trained and available to assist patrons.
