Our client in the mining industry has an opportunity available for a Sourcing Specialist - Supply Chain to be based in the Rustenburg area. This will be a contract position for 12 months.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12/Matric essential
- Relevant degree or equivalent in either supply chain and/or purchasing management, logistics management, economics, business economics or managerial finance is essential
- Advanced or professional diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) would be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a mining procurement environment specifically in conducting sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and/or RFTs) and negotiating with suppliers and awarding of contracts essential
- Knowledge and experience in compilation of effective bidder’s lists is essential
- Knowledge and experience in scrutinising and evaluating technical scopes of works (SOW) to ensure successful sourcing events is essential
- Knowledge and experience in conducting supplier analysis, cost and pricing analysis as well as conducting business and commercial risk assessments with team members is essential.
- Knowledge and experience in drafting, negotiating and finalisation of formal written contractual agreements and possess the necessary commercial law and business acumen to persuade companies on issues such as sustainability, commercial risk, compliance, cost reduction/containment, SHEQ and BBBEE objectives for inclusion into formal written contractual agreements is essential.
- Knowledge of specific preferential purchasing related Mining Charter and BBBEE legislative requirements, as well as a good understanding of BBBEE certificates, qualifying rating agencies, and sworn affidavits is essential.
- SAP-ERP, and SAP-BW, knowledge and experience in extracting and analysing management information relating to spend patterns is essential.
- Must facilitate and conduct meetings effectively
- Must have negotiation and presentation skills
- Must have an ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Must have analytical and numerical skills and business writing skills

KPAs:

- Analyse spend data/trends to identify and develop overall strategic/tactical sourcing initiatives which meet the needs of the Organisation and recommend agreement formation to Category Manager on research of total spend, end-user impact, risks, feedback and activity along with marketplace analysis
- Develop and manage formal project plans for approved sourcing/tender events and communicate to all relevant stakeholders
- Initiate, lead and influence the selection process through cross functional teams at all levels in the organisation
- Lead, initiate, create RFI, RFQ, RFP, RFT commercial processes in a sustainable manner and execute sourcing/tender events within predetermined timeframes and in the ambit of good corporate governance.
- Manage compliance to all relevant policies, procedures, approval frameworks and codes of conduct.
