Assurecloud Chemistry Analyst, Cape Town

The role of the Chemistry Analyst in the testing laboratory is to plan the testing schedule and to conduct the testing of samples submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within required turnaround times.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Familiar with SANAS 17025 Accreditation.
- Conduct simple and complex tests independently and troubleshooting where necessary.
- Responsible for the verification of results and interpret data against known sources of information.
- Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s and early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT.
- Oversee instrument operations.
- Responsible for the upkeep of laboratory instruments.
- Notification to management of calibration and service requests.
- Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
- Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility.
- Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
- Managing consumable costs.
- Ensure good working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Other duties as assigned by the company, within the employee’s scope of work.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Familiarize yourself with relevant procedures and read all relevant MSDSs.
- National Diploma or Degree in Analytical Chemistry Or Biotechnology.
- 1-2 Years’ experience with Nutritional and Heavy Metal Analysis.
