A Multinational Asset Manager is seeking a Portfolio Manager & Analyst to join their Cash and Income team. This is an exciting opportunity to be the custodian of, continually re-define, implement, and manage the cash and income philosophy and process, with a focus on delivering on portfolio return objectives.

Develop implementable investment strategies that generates alpha and ensures the successful management of cash and income portfolios by analyzing and interpreting global economics, interest bearing markets, derivatives, and currencies. Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in the market and work toward driving efficiencies within the team and research processes. Manage and mentor the cash and income team within the company’s value framework.

**Qualifications& Experience**:

- University Post Graduate Degree (Science / Engineering / Finance) / Masters
- Strong programming skills in Python / R essential
- 6-7 years of experience in a comparable role, or in another quantitative finance field, having coded predictive models in various scripting languages.
- Essential to understand and implement sound econometric concepts in different scripting languages, driving efficiencies within the team and research processes. Knowledge of various statistical techniques and data science are therefore key elements.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python / R required
- Solid experience managing and analysing large amounts of data is a must (ideally SQL)

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Interest Bearing Research**

The key objective is to advance research efforts and improve overall quality and coverage utilizing the skill set of the team
- Define cash and income research/alpha framework
- Expand strategies and market coverage
- Expand credit coverage and models
- Drive new yield enhancement research
- Derivatives research and strategy ideas
- Manage data sources
- Create robust research database

**Interest Bearing Portfolio Management**

The key objective is to manage the income mandates to deliver on its performance objectives
- Set and oversee income model portfolios
- Drive and give input to cash and income portfolio strategy and the generation of model portfolios, including:

- Asset allocation decisions
- Generate and motivate duration positions
- Manage yield enhancement strategies
- Manage credit utilization across mandates
- Manage risk through use of derivatives

**Back-up Portfolio Management Implementation**

Act as back-up on money market portfolio management implementation, updating models, trading, compliance and checking

The key objective is the development of analytics tools and strategies, as well as the improvement and extension of current tools.

**Interest Bearing team interaction**

The key objective is to work on a collaborative basis, ensuring that the team remains cohesive and successful
- Follow a collaborate approach which embraces the company value system
- Be proactive in generating new research and participating in debate
- Suggest and implement process enhancement to improve/speed up processes
- Contribute positively and be solutions driven

**Client and stakeholder Interaction and Marketing**

The key objective is to represent the firm proactively and positively in all interactions
- Grow and assist in maintaining AUM
- Represent firm in all required client interaction
- Ensure internal sales and marketing feedback is optimal
- PR (written, radio and TV)
- Oversee required report commentary
