**BLASTING ASSISTANTS**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Valid Blasting Assistant Certificate
- Knowledge of Opencast Mining
- Code 8 or 10 driver’s license
- 3 years’ experience of opencast blasting.
- Ability to charge and close blast holes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify and control hazards.
- Closing of blast holes.
- Closing off areas before blast.
- Preparation of primers.
- Controlling explosives received.
- Timing of blasting rounds.

Assist with tying up blast block

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Opencast Blasting: 3 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Blasting Assistant Certificate (required)
- Code 8 or 10 driver’s license (preferred)
