**Job Summary**

Oversee and lead the manufacturing process to ensure it delivers high quality, cost effective and timely solutions in line with business needs. Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve, resolving issues that arise. Identify the amount of necessary resources required in the manufacturing process.

**Responsibilities & Duties**

Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements

Oversee and lead the design process to ensure it delivers high quality, cost effective and timely solutions in line with business needs.

Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines

Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve, resolving issues that arise.

Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel

Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)

Work with Maintenance and others to schedule planned maintenance work, specify and purchase equipment etc.
- continually maintain and improve the quality of products

Enforce and develop health and safety and environmental systems, supported by the H&S manager, to meet relevant standards

**Qualifications & Experience**

Grade 12

Engineering related qualification (advantageous)

5 years’ plus experience managing and supervising large group of employees in the manufacturing industry, preferably steel manufacturing

Proven experience in production management ideally from within the Steel industry.

Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

Experience in reporting on key production metrics

Syspro experience (advantageous)

Willingness to be flexible in order to meet the business needs

Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach

Proficient in MS Office and a working knowledge of ERP, CAD and Manufacturing system

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From R1.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
