Maintenance assistant required to assist the Artisan or Maintenance Technician onsite.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**

1. Pre-maintenance Checks

2. Inspection of Boiler

3. Housekeeping of Workshop and Storeroom

4. Food Safety

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- At least a Matric/Grade 12.
- N1 or N2 Mechanical Certificate
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience in a Machinery maintenance role.

Other skills required:

- Ability to work power tools and hand tools
- Physically fit

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**:
Level 3 - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.

**NUMERICAL SKILLS**:
Level 2 - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

**REASONING ABILITY**:
**LICENCES**:

- Forklift license (advantageous)

**COMPUTER SKILL**:

- Basic computer literacy skills (advantageous)

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is:

- Often required to stand and walk.
- Often required to climb, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Sometime required to lift weight of up to 50kg.
- Often working in highly dusty areas and in confined spaces.
- Required to work shift hours.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include colour (for colour coding bags etc.) vision.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Blackheath, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
