Our client, a distinguished corporate commodity trading entity renowned for its international physical deliveries, is seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer / Risk Manager to join their esteemed team on a permanent basis. This pivotal role requires an individual with extensive experience and a profound understanding of SAFEX and Grain trading.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement robust compliance policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor and assess compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and exchange rules governing grain trading activities.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks across trading operations.
- Provide expert guidance and support to trading teams on compliance matters, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Manage regulatory reporting obligations, including SAFEX reporting requirements, and ensure timely submission of accurate data.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance risk management frameworks and strengthen internal controls.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices to inform compliance strategies and initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities, exchanges, and external auditors as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a grain trading SAFEX environment.
- Successful completion of the SAFEX examination.
- Proven track record in compliance management and risk assessment within the commodity trading industry.
- Thorough understanding of exchange rules, regulatory requirements, and best practices governing grain trading.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in compliance monitoring and reporting.
