Gender-based Violence and Femicide Data Capturer

**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent and qualified individual to consult on Gender Responsive Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring, Evaluation and Auditing Framework (GRPBMEAF) and National Strategic Plan on Gender Based Violence and Femicide (NSP on GBVF), through monitoring, evaluation, reporting, coordination, mobilisation and capacity building. This position is based in the Western Cape.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in social sciences and related fields; A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in data capturing and gender related fields.

**Recommendation**:
Experience in the following: Data management software/packages (capturing, data mining, data souring and analysis etc. Data analysis. Understanding of databases and Microsoft Excel. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience of working in the province.

**Key Performance Areas**:
Participate in the development of data management systems for the National Strategic Plan on Gender-based Violence and Femicide (NSP on GBVF). Maintain database by entering new and updated information. Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information. Establish entry priorities. Ensure accurate capturing of data according to data management system requirements while ensuring that all useful information is captured and communicated to relevant stakeholders. Consolidate and analyse data in order to develop informative reports that inform decision making and further programme planning. Analyse existing data management systems and recommend improvements. Ensure regular and timely submission of the required data and reports from various stakeholders. Effectively manage relations with various stakeholders in the GBVF sector.

**Competencies**:
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.); Excellent attention to detail; ability to perform repetitive tasks with high degree of accuracy; ability to use data management systems; ability to multi task; Strong verbal and communication skills; ability to work independently with mínimal supervision; fast typing skills; good command of English both oral and written.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive package of R540 000 per annum, paid on an hourly rate linked to a maximum of 1 760 hours per annum.

Accordingly, appointed consultants will not be entitled to additional benefits applicable to public service employees. Consultants will be responsible for personal expenditure related to accommodation and subsistence. All authorised project-related expenditure shall be covered by the Department.
