To oversee people and daily operations of the yard in line with safety and environmental requirements and ensure all equipment and materials are properly maintained, stored and accounted for at all times.

**Experiential and Educational requirements**:

- Grade 12 (NQF level 3 literacy and numeracy)
- Preference to a tertiary qualification
- HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) training
- Must have a valid driver’s licence
- Certified to operate heavy machinery

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Co-ordinate, manage and monitor daily tasks, priorities and work plans and ensure team outputs are of an acceptable standard.
- Provide ongoing operational support, mentoring, guidance and problem solving to the team where required.
- Keep Operations Manager updated on performance and any challenges requiring resolution / corrective action
- Regularly inspect equipment and machines.
- Liaise with Maintenance to resolve challenges with machinery and equipment.
- Ensure no contamination of materials in line with regulations and safe operating procedures
- Monitor and facilitate smooth flows of trucks into and out of the yard to avoid congestion and ensure compliance with safe operating procedures.
- Continually drive compliance to health, safety, environmental and security regulations and procedures and work closely with Operations Manager, Safety Officer and other relevant stakeholders to flag and mitigate risks.
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of tonnage volumes moved through the yard every day / week / month / year.
- Maintain continual open communication with Weighbridge Operator and Sales team to plan daily loads, ensure aligned understanding and resolve problems.
- Collect and analyze data to improve efficiencies (e.g. waste and overtime), working with Operations Manager to drive improvements to ensure high performance and consistent return on assets.
- Participate in / lead relevant projects as required.
- Assist with any ad hoc duties as directed by the Management
