WATER AND SANITATION Senior Professional Officer Engineering
**Requirements**:

- BSc Eng Civil/ B Eng Civil/ or any other engineering

degree including BTech in Civil with postgraduate coursework
in wastewater process and design
- 5 years’ relevant experience in Project Management/ design of

Wastewater Treatment works.
- Registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer/

Technologist with ECSA.
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Detailed knowledge of wastewater treatment design principles

and implementation
- Knowledge of relevant I applicable local authority legislation,

regulations and policies
- Detailed knowledge of capital works budgeting and cost control
- A Valid EB Driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas
- Prepares reports to Head Projects and

Implementation with recommendations on cost, etc.
Prepares engineering designs specifications and drawings
and the management of multi-disciplinary projects which would
include investigations, scoping, feasibility studies,
Designs, project management, contract administration,
Construction supervision, commissioning and hand-over of
Major / minor future infrastructure, upgrades of present
Infrastructure and operational driven
- Designs the infrastructure, checks the tender drawings,

compiles specifications, evaluates the tenders, liaises with
Quantity Surveyors
- Provides engineering guidance and supervises, allocates jobs,

training and mentoring Engineers in-training and Project
Administrators
- Ensures correct and efficient contract administration,

written communication with internal and external parties
and the safekeeping thereof
- Prepares capital and operating impact within a planned

project and manages and controls expenditure against
