Urban-Econ NIKELA (Pty) Ltd requires the services of a _**_Research Consultant_**_ with research and consultancy experience._

**_ Key Responsibilities:_**
- Attend briefing meetings
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders (both verbal and written) under Seniors/Managers’ instruction;
- Compile clear and practical work plans for the deliverables with appropriate timeframes and report progress;
- Conduct relevant primary and secondary research, which includes but is not limited to:

- Identifying relevant stakeholders and role-players;
- Designing data collection tools such as questionnaires and other survey methodologies;
- Setting up and conducting interviews;
- Conducting surveys;
- Training/supervising fieldworkers or junior staff to undertake fieldwork;
- Sourcing secondary information and data.
- Construct and maintain clear and neat databases of primary and secondary research (survey data, contact lists, meeting minutes, statistics used, secondary data sourced, etc);
- Analyse and interpret primary and secondary research data;
- Draw conclusions based on the research and compile constructive recommendations;
- Compile comprehensive research reports;
- Prepare and deliver presentations;
- Submit work timeously to be reviewed by Manager;
- Perform all administrative duties timeously (maintaining project files, backups, timesheets, etc.)
- Undertake additional tasks as requested by seniors/ management.

- Ability to organise, analyse and interpret data
- Ability to organise time and meet deadlines
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken language
- Proficiency with MS Office suite of programmes
- **Professional** competencies**:

- Ability to collect appropriate primary and secondary data, verify, analyse and synthesise information
- Excellent report writing, editing and formatting skills
- Excellent Excel data analysis skills
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- Commitment to meeting deadlines
- **Experience**:

- Experience in research and consultancy work
- Experience in the Post School Education & Training and the SETA environment and added advantage

**_Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):_**
- Minimum of Masters’ degree in “Development Studies”, “Social Sciences”, “Education and Work” or related field;
- Driver’s licence (Code B);
- Own vehicle.
