**The IIE's Varsity College** is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

**The IIE Varsity College, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Head: Student Services.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Design, Implementation and Monitoring of the Student Services Plan**
- Creates the Student Services plan for the campus and creates annual calendars in accordance with this plan.
- Determines the timeframe and key deliverables of the plan and monitors achievement and deviations.
- Implements relevant policies and procedures and monitors adherence.
- Consolidates and supports the delivery of individual departmental plans and ensures co-operation across departments.
- Compiles a consolidated calendar to ensure that there are no overlaps and duplicates.
- Liaises with the National office to support national initiatives to be implemented throughout the calendar year, including marketing requirements across the campus.
- Manages and rolls out national events on campus.

**Student Support**
- Sets criteria and manages the selection process of The IIE's Varsity College Voice.
- Sets up The IIE's Varsity College calendar of meetings, development workshops and leadership workshops etc.
- Manages and oversees the bursaries of The IIE's Varsity College Voice, VC Cares, Sport, Social and Career Centre Committees.
- Oversees and supports international students including monthly meetings and encouraging engagement.
- Sets up and manages The IIE's Varsity College Voice committee inclusive of relevant members.
- Sets up and manages the logistics of the on campus Buddy System.
- In collaboration with the Academic Operations and Academic department sets up The IIE's Varsity College Academic Forum with all elected class representatives from each class group.
- Represents Student Services by attending campus and student events.
- Addresses queries and disseminates information to correct members of staff responsible to handle that query.
- Develops, manages and runs Student Mentorship and leadership programs and workshops.

**Management of Corporate Social Investment (CSI) on Campus**
- Manages and implements the annual Corporate Social Investment (CSI) implementation plan and monitors the impact of this plan.
- Facilitates and grows relationships with identified CSI beneficiaries.
- Monitors the CSI budget and reports on successful outcomes.
- Co-ordinates the rollout of requirements of CSI projects in conjunction with other departments.
- Creates and disseminates communications to highlight CSI success.

**Student Discipline Management**
- Deals with student discipline issues that may arise on campus such as ones that contravene the student code of conduct.
- Addresses student disciplinary issues in consultation with the Campus Head.
- Where appropriate ensures that student disciplinary measures are corrective in nature.
- In collaboration with the Academic Operations and Academic teams ensures that student disciplinary outcomes are contextualized so that outcomes are finalised appropriately.
- Monitors compliance of student disciplinary processes.
- Creates awareness around the Safe Campus Policy.

**Administration, Reporting and Budget Management**
- Compiles monthly Student Services Team reports for the campus.
- Attends monthly calls.
- Supports the campus team with any audits that may require administration.
- Maintains records across various responsibilities including student discipline.
- Record keeping of student disciplinary matters and their outcomes.
- Processes bursaries for the different student bodies in conjunction with relevant portfolio managers e.g. VC Cares and Student Wellness Manager.
- Compiles ad hoc administrative reports needed by either National, The IIE, or ADvTECH.
- Creates the annual budget for Student Services and manages, forecasts and reports on these budgets in conjunction with campus Finance.

**Registration and Orientation Week Management**
- Plans and oversees the smooth running of the Student Services component of registration and orientation week for the campus.
- Registration venue setup and disseminates information pertaining to Student Services to students and parents.
- Deals with any issues or needs that may arise during orientation week.
- Creates awareness around the orientation week processes and itinerary.

**Student Services Team Management and Guidance**
- Supports the development of individual departmental plans as aligned to the overall campus plan.
- Tracks and manages performance of relevant departments.
- Maintains oversight of all projects.
- Monitors compliance to specific departmental policies and procedures.
