SAWS is also the official provider of weather and climate information for the South African public and for commerce.-
- **Senior Scientist Air Quality Services**-
- This position is responsible for matters pertaining to the availability and quality control of near real time and historical air quality data managed by the South African Weather Service. The Scientist will assist in the provision of quality data to internal, local and international clients. The Scientist is to maintain operational air quality and atmospheric emissions databanks and quality control of air quality and atmospheric emissions data. The scientist is expected to be involved in and contribute to various projects including air quality related research and the development, installation, maintenance and upgrading of existing systems utilized by SAWS. The Scientist is expected to contribute to the development and/or compilation of new products and the establishment of new methodologies and processes that will improve service delivery to clients.
