Senior Corporate Commercial Associate - Johannesburg

A position has become available for an Associate, with one of our clients, a local and international firm based in Johannesburg

**Requirements and Experience**
- B.Comm LLB
- Admission as an Attorney in South Africa
- 3-5 years’ experience in commercial law
- Experience in writing opinions and drafting agreements
- Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
- A sound understanding of commercial law principles
- Ability to administer and execute instructions, from receipt to conclusion, with mínimal professional supervision
- Strong organisational skills, meticulous and high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate work in order to meet deadlines in a highly pressurised environment
- Be a team player, who takes his/ her clients and work seriously
- Be able to engage with often difficult and demanding clients who will interrogate your reasoning and require you to justify your legal arguments and commercial input
- Show interest and an appreciation of what is happening around you and have an interest in business, i.e., understand that political and economic events may have an impact on your clients and your practice
- Ability to take initiative and assume responsibility for monitoring the expeditious progress of transactions

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Involvement in all aspects of corporate law including a large range of agreements across a range of industries
- Delegating to, and working with junior professionals within and outside of the Corporate & Commercial Department
- Assisting with the day-to-day practice management, by:

- Preparing and settling invoices
- Engaging with clients regarding invoices
