Role Purpose

Accurately control and process financial information and prepare financial reports and analysis to enable business processes and management of the banking function for Guardrisk Insurance & Guardrisk Life.
Requirements
- B Comm Finance Degree or Accounting Degree
- 5-8 years banking/insurance industry experience
- 3-5 years client relationship experience
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders and various bank relationship managers
- Portfolio support and management and servicing by working closely with the portfolio manager and other colleagues
- Review and Authorise bank recons
- Identify and resolve problem sources or escalate to relevant level of authority
- Meeting company and client accounting, payment and reporting deadlines
- Contribute to the enhancement of systems and processes issues in order to enhance financial and banking management
- Identify and reconcile discrepancies and problems
- Participate and contribute to a culture which build rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service within the organisation
- Deliver on service level agreements made with internal and external stakeholders and clients
- Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders
- Prepare and provide necessary documentation to complete timely audit both for client and Guardrisk
- Contribute to the audit process and resolve any audit queries within the deadlines set
- Implement and provide feedback on the effectiveness of financial policy, practice and procedures preventing illegal, unethical or improper conduct
- Assist with setting up bank accounts with various banks
- Liase and build relationships with the various bank relationship managers
- Review and improve the dedicated bank processors and document the processors for the various banks
- Understand and assist with the premium collection process for the various collection agancies
- Understand and assist with the forex payment and receipt process. This also includes managing the required SARB approvals for existing and new transactions.
- Review all bank recons and sign off monthly
- Investigate variances and discripencies and liase with the varies parties to clear
- Manage banking staff
- Setup and administer profiles on the varies banking profiles, keep a register of all users and update when necessary
- Recon dollar account and allocate cashflow monthly
- Assist with the internal and external audit
