GENERAL PURPOSE:
: Maintenance, calibration of Instruments and integrated equipment and support of internal and external sales.

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Install, inspect, calibrate, service and maintain instruments up to and including component level
- Interpret Engineering design drawings, check for elementary errors and manufacturability and compile Bills of material for purchasing materials needed for maintenance and installation
- Install and maintain instrument field devices
- Testing of modules and loop checks
- Maintain safe work procedures for monthly SHE inspections
- Inspect, service, repair and overhaul field devices and ensure that machines are kept in good condition
- Assist customer electronic and electrical departments if and when required.
- Completing work in compliance with the applicable standards, industry, health, safety, environment, AMS SOP’s and customer orders.
- Execute In-house Flow, Pressure and Temperature calibrations and issue certificates.
- Adopting all established and appropriate process controls, procedures and written work instructions
- Completing work in compliance with the applicable standards, industry, health, safety, environment, AMS SOP’s and customer orders.
- Communication of irregularities to the Department Manager.
- Documentation of the calibration results
- Protection of calibration results (data protection)FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS:

- Good insight in the step by step operations of machinery and processes
- Good knowledge and understanding of field devices used i.e. sensors, level sensing, pressures, temperatures, Flow etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good fault finding and trouble shooting skills
- Able to work under pressure

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- National Diploma or Trade Qualification in Industrial Instrumentation or Electric Engineering
- Computer literate
