Service Manager

This role will be involved in strategic planning for service revenue expansion and growth as well as management of processes and activities of the service department. Activities include and are not limited to repair and maintenance of analyzers - including bench repairs and site work, across Sub Saharan Africa.
Role and Responsibilities
Build and maintain a sustainable Service Department through the implementation of strategic plans
Execute growth strategies to establish and maintain a sustainable revenue growth trajectory
Negotiation and implementation of SLA’s
Negotiation and implementation of pricing updates
Relationship building with key stakeholders of high potential commercial accounts
Create and maintain a strategic plan with continuous assessment of market dynamics and redirection where necessary
Manage and train service engineers
Assist in field service activities as required
Plan staff scheduling
Budget and Forecasting management of the service department
Manage workshop efficiencies and tools
Technical assistance to external and internal customers
Document and process controls
Relationships
Reports directly to SA General Manager

**Qualifications**:
A degree or National Diploma in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering. Oracle (advantageous) and MS Office knowledge (mandatory). Sound interpersonal/ influencing skills would also be required with respect to internal & external customers. Communication skills. Experience in handling logistics. Delivering Results Through Others, Warehouse operations, Champion customer focus. Skills and competencies
At least 5 years management experience (preferred) managing a team
Proven track record of strategic thinking and implementation
Must have a valid driver’s license, and a driving record, that is acceptable to Danaher
Knowledge and use of personal computers, and common business software (MS Office)
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent administrative skills
Strong negotiation skills
