Fleet Controller and Contract Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**:
Responsible to supervise, manage and schedule all aspects relating to transporting cargo for clients, which include, the management of drivers and all related personnel as well as timeously communication with clients. Responsible for overseeing the logistics of our company's transportation-related activities. In this role, you'll be keeping track of transportation operations and ensuring that all policies, procedures, and safety rules are followed.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS**:

- Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of all vehicles.
- Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
- Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
- Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures applicable to the responsible contract.
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of vehicles.
- Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules.
- Responsible for the daily communication to all depots for preparation, planning and booking of daily deliveries.
- Monitor the progress of truckloads and enquire how many loads are still pending and outstanding daily.
- Timeously and accurately checking the allocated offloading list daily.
- Ensure effective communication within the department regarding daily figures in cases of shorts/extras, to avoid any truck delays by substituting trucks where/if required.
- Attend and provide necessary feedback at daily meetings (Figures and “TO DO” meetings).
- Responsible to conduct driver interviews daily.
- Oversee that fleet boards are updated daily.
- Assist with company disciplinary matters, by either investigating occurrences, initiating or testifying at/in a disciplinary inquiry if/when required (this includes testifying at the bargaining council or CCMA).
- Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times.
- Managing of a client contract.
- Open Fleet responsibilities such as controlling, planning, and overseeing of 12 trucks.

**SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS.**
- Ability to organize, delegate and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate high levels of quality, focus and attention to detail.
- Consist ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Microsoft related programs.
- Computer literate.
- Strong Problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (English & Afrikaans).

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION.**
- National Matric Certificate (Grade 12).
- Formal qualification in Transport Logistics will be an advantage.
- At least 2 years experience as a Contract Manager in Transport Logistics.
- 5 to 10 years experience in the transport industry (advantage).

**WORKING HOURS**
- 07:00-17:00 (On SIte)
- After hours involvement as operations require.

**SALARY**
- R20 100 per month
