**Job Description**:
Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Senior Software Asset Management Analyst **to be part of our dynamic team.

The key responsibilities of this position involve evaluating software usage and compliance reports and providing expert guidance on optimal software licensing strategies and Software Asset Management (SAM) practices.

The primary objective is to ensure adherence to software licensing regulations while optimizing costs.

Furthermore, this role will involve advising the business on SAM compliance and audit necessities, as well as managing the SAM system and generating reports.

**Role Scope**:
**Software Licensing Efficiencies**
- Review optimization recommendations and make proposals to business stakeholders that enables decisions on optimal software licensing.
- Review and set software reclaim policies to drive optimal software license untilisation.
- Determine license pool numbers based on forecasting to ensure available license volumes meets agreed thresholds.
- Analyse and report on upcoming software renewals and make recommendations to improve on software licensing inefficiencies.

**Analyse, Research & Reporting**
- Gather and influence requirements from internal and external stakeholders to establish a clear understanding of the organization's standard and ad-hoc software asset management reporting needs.
- Design and build reports to provide insight about the cost saving, compliance, risk prevention and other benefits realized from the organization's software asset management activities as well as further potential improvements.
- Manages requests from internal customers for IT Software Asset Management data information

**Compliance & Controls**
- Establish a clear understanding of software licensing audit requirements and advise on the appropriate evidence to support auditors to provide assurance of the company's adherence to compliance requirements
- Report on all software audit findings and engage with relevant stakeholders on areas of non-compliance to ensure corrective action is identified and implemented or escalated when failing to comply.

**Planning & Direction**
- Creates and drives the technical delivery plans to support the execution software asset management strategy.
- Estimate and communicate the software asset management effort required for effective project planning and prioritisation.

**Knowledge, practices and continuous improvement**
- Gather and specify the functional system requirements to enable the configuration of software asset management tools and systems that meets user and business requirements.
- Provide training and support to ensure the correct use of software asset management tools and systems
- Align and implement the organisation's software asset management practices to ensure adherence to the required policies, processes, tools, methods, standards.
- Conduct research and analyse data to identify trends, new methods and standards and recommend these to improve product or service's practices
- Create and deliver knowledge sharing programmes to ensure awareness of software asset management practices and services amongst internal stakeholders.

**Stakeholder Management**
- Maintain a software asset management stakeholder map and continuously align with stakeholders on the value provided and the required service delivery agreements.
