Duties/Pligte
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Biometry, Data Science and Plant Breeding;
- Developing the curriculum and implementing and assessing undergraduate modules in Biometry and Data Science in the Department of Genetics;
- Participating in research activities within the context of the plant breeding laboratory, Department of Genetics, and School for Data Science and Computational Thinking;
- Continuously publishing research results by means of articles and congress papers;
- Supervising Honours and fourth year students;
- Participating in academically relevant departmental, school and faculty activities, as required.
- Voorgraadse onderrig in Biometrie, Datawetenskap en Planteteelt;
- Die kurrikulering, implementering, uitvoering en assessering van van voorgraadsemodules in Biometrie en Datawetenskap in die Departement Genetika.
- Deelname in die navorsingsaktiwiteite binne die konteks van die Planteteeltlaboratorium, Department Genetika, en die Skool vir Datawetenskap en Rekenaardenke;
- Deurlopende bekendmaking van navorsingsresultate by wyse van publikasies en kongresbydraes;
- Studieleiding aan Honneurs en vierdejaarstudente;
- Deelname aan akademies toepaslike departementele, skool en fakulteitsaktiwiteite, wanneer nodig.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- MSc/MScAgric in Genetics, Biometry, Data Science and/or Plant Breeding (achieved by the time of appointment);
- Proficiency in the use of both R and Python;
- Good verbal and written communication skills to function in a multilingual university.

- MSc/MScAgric in Genetika, Biometrie, Datawetenskap en/of Planteteelt (behaal ten tyde van aanstelling);
- Vaardigheid in die gebruik van beide R en Python;
- Ervaring in die gebruik en aanwending van masjienleertoepassings in navorsing;
- Goeie mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede om in 'n veeltalige universiteitsomgewing te funksioneer.
