Maintenance Technical Assistant

Rolfes Agri is part of (Solevo) Group. **What are we looking for?** We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive **Maintenance Technical Assistant** who can support our maintenance team by ensuring equipment and facilities run smoothly, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment." **Problem-Solving** - Quickly identifying and fixing issues. **Attention to Detail** - Spotting small faults before they become major problems. **Adaptability** - Handling unexpected maintenance challenges. **Teamwork & Communication** - Collaborating with technicians and reporting issues clearly. **Time Management** - Prioritizing tasks efficiently to minimize downtime. **The key responsibilities**: - Perform hot work tasks such as welding and torch cutting. - Perform cold work including drilling, tapping, modifying, and assembling components. - Repair and maintain air pumps, pipe systems, and carry out pipe fitting and plumbing tasks. - Assist in workshop tasks and support fabrication requirements for ongoing projects. - Conduct routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment. - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime. - Ensure preventative maintenance is completed according to the maintenance schedule - Assist in the installation, servicing, commissioning, and repair of new and existing equipment. - Assist with the execution and commissioning of project plans. - Complete and submit job cards promptly after task completion. - Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any recurring issues. - Actively contribute to team discussions and provide constructive input to improve operations. - Operate basic tools and machinery safely and effectively. - Ensure tools are properly maintained and used in accordance with safety protocols. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and lean practices (training to be provided). - Adhere to health and safety regulations by reporting unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and unsafe acts immediately. - Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment. - Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines. - Application of problem-solving tools and techniques (training to be completed). - Implementation and practice of 5S workplace organisation (training to be completed). **If you possess** **Must-Have**: - Grade 12 (Matric). - Trade Certificate in Welding. - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing industry. - Chemical industry experience would be advantageous. **If you are** **Why join Rolfes Agri (Solevo)?**- Join a **young dynamic team**who is leading the chemical distribution on the African continent. - Enjoy a **collaborative, international and agile work environment.**: - Be part of a team where **freedom, initiative and ‘thinking out of the box**’ is key. - Opportunity to work in a **growing versatile environment.**: - Competitive **compensation package** and **comprehensive benefits** package. - Explore opportunities for professional **growth and advancement.** **Then, this job is for you** **How to join us?** If you’re excited about this position, we encourage you to submit your resume detailing your relevant experience and be part of our exciting journey. **What's next ?** If your profile matches our search, you will be contacted by our HR team for a first contact.
