**Main Job Purpose**:
To provide mentoring - guidance, support and monitoring - and coordinate the team of CYCW in the Project to support mobile paediatric and adolescent outreach activities. Oversee and provide HIV-positive children and adolescents with home-based, comprehensive psychosocial support and linkage to health facilities and other required care/support

**Key duties and responsibilities**

**Programme implementation**
- Oversee the implementation of the programme in line with minimum service guidelines and practice.
- Role model child and youth care practice in the clinics and communities when supporting child and youth care workers

**Stakeholder engagement**
- Attend stakeholders’ meetings including Anova/DoH facility/sub-district implementation meetings
- Network and liaise with relevant Department of Health facilities and sub-districts teams, and organizations and resources in the community.

**Capacity building and Team management**
- Orientation of child and youth care workers
- Conduct and facilitate Inservice-training to the CYCWs and provide update on the new information in the health sector

**Reporting**
- Compile monthly activity report on the programme implementation
- Oversee and consolidate the CYCWs monthly reports

**Essential qualifications and experience**
- CYCW with an FETC Child and Youth Care/studying towards a diploma
- Must have Matric certificate/Grade 12
- Registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions
- Professionalism
- 3 years relevant experience (working with children and young people in the community context, facilitating Family group conferences, mentor/coordinator)
- Evidence of good Child and Youth care practice as per CYCW Code of Ethics
- Ability to work under pressure and ability to work well as part of a team
- Competency (Speak, Read and Write) in English
- Good administration skills
- Good writing skills
- An understanding of Children’s Legislative framework e.g. Children’s Act

The following will be advantageous:

- Experience in HIV/AIDS and TB programs and adherence support
- Being trained in Vhutshilo 1, 2 and 3; KidzAlive
