Our organisation seeks to appoint an experienced Bid / Tender Estimator.

**Overall Job Function**:
The Estimator is responsible for the overall project estimation for the purposes of tender submissions. The incumbent will be responsible for liaising with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors / suppliers to plan cost factors for building projects; analyzes construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects by performing the following duties.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Attend briefing sessions and/or visit site of works to gather information
- Analyzing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs
- Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Analyzing data that can affect costs (such as currency exchange rates and the company's productivity rates)
- Assessing the financial, technical, and operational risks of the project
- Staying aware of the latest construction technologies
- Keeping up to date with the latest Researching, sourcing, negotiating
- Inputting into decisions over whether to bid for the project
- Working closely with key members of the project team (such as the chief estimator) and liaising with clients and suppliers
- Keeping detailed records and writing reports.

**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum of five (5) years of tendering experience as an Estimator
- in Civil Engineering, Building, Electrical and Mechanical as a experience in various economic sectors
- B.Eng/BSc/B-Tech/N. Dip in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering or related qualification.
- Experience in working in a fast - paced multi-disciplinary organisation
- Good understanding of project pricing.
- Familiarity / Proficiency with software or internet-based programs
- Ability to review tender requirements, decide on required input, engage with relevant parties and compile the technical and commercial response for the required Scope of Work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work under very mínimal supervision and with tight deadlines

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From R15,000.00 per month
