**About the role**

As the Chief Financial Officer to join our client’s team, you will primarily lead in the finance division and you will be joining the leadership team in an executive level position, reporting into the CEO & COO.

**Responsibilities**

**Executive functions**:
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):

- Lead financial due diligence for potential acquisitions.
- Evaluate the financial impact and risks of mergers, acquisitions and partnerships.
- Oversee integration of acquired. companies into existing financial systems and processes.

Risk Management:

- Identify and manage financial risks, including currency exchange, market fluctuations and regulatory changes.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s financial health.

Cash Flow Management:

- Implement effective cash management and liquidity strategies.
- Optimise working capital to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.

Financial Strategy and Planning:

- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Create financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Develop and oversee the budgeting process.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular updates to the executive team.

ERP Systems and Technology:

- Oversee the selection and implementation of financial systems and technologies.
- Ensure the efficient use of financial systems to support business operations.

Financial Controls:

- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Implement and monitor financial policies and procedures.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.

Tax Planning and Compliance:

- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the company’s tax position.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Investor Relations:

- Communicate financial results and strategies to investors and stakeholders.
- Participate in investor meetings and presentations.

Legal and Contractual Oversight:

- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure financial transactions and contracts are in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Provide financial input into contractual agreements.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement in line with business principles.

**Financial accounting & management functions**:

- Payables management
- Receivables management
- To ensure that the set out financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Develop and manage new and current financial policies.
- Account reconciliations management and administration.
- Cash flow management and reporting
- Cash balance investment management for maximising interest and minimising cost.
- Preparation of business financials in accordance with relevant external and internal requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the business’s financial information.
- Ensuring the up-to-date accuracy of the business’ financials in order for management to make informed decisions in real time.
- Managing the structure, cash receipts and movements of foreign currencies for low negative exchange rate exposure and maximum cost efficiency.
- Developing and iteratively improving the finance function’s architecture as it relates to resources, software, dissemination of key information and other business requirements.
- Input into the overall financial systems and processes of the company so as to improve efficiency and efficacy in operations.
- Financial banking/processing product infrastructure design and management for highest efficiency and efficiency with lowest possible costs.
- Analyse financial data, identify trends and possible risk.
- Developing financial strategies that align with the market and strategic goals of the business.
- The development of client profitability insights and strategies to increase the gross margin of the business to target levels per client.
- The analysis of company data for contribution and cultivation of new product, service and market strategies.
- Developing, maintaining and improving a budgeted forecast of business revenue, operating expenditure and other key income statement line items for strategic and operational insight and action.
- Research and analysis of funding and/or financial product opportunities to enable the scaling of the business at key intervals.
- Ownership of accounting software and its relevant integrations.
- Management of necessary information to process payroll including leave schedules, commissions owed and commission revisions.
