**PURPOSE**

The purpose of this exists to assist the Process Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the plant against set objectives thus maintenance of the plant, and they will also assist with attending to breakdowns quickly on shift.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Safety**

Carry and fulfil responsibilities of a MHSA Section 2.9.2 legal appointment

Maintain Fraser Alexander and Client safety policy and procedure requirements

Promote safety performance

Conduct risk assessments

Do planned task observations

Conduct safety meetings

Ensure team members wear PPE

Report & investigate all incidents/accidents

Mine Health and Safety Act compliance

**Operations**

Maintain good housekeeping standards

Do proper shift handover

Operate the plant

Rectify process deficiencies

Ensures production targets are met

Maintains quality standards

Monitors plant performance to obtain optimum production

Advise on requirements of process spares

Implement client “Crushing Plan” to achieve throughput & qualities

Monitor sampling procedures

**Maintenance**

Be part of maintenance planning meeting

Create job card (R Card)

Engineering work execution on relevant Maintenance day’s

Inspect equipment in working area by following On key-system

Do general and processing maintenance/repairs e.g. change panels and sieve bends/tighten panels/cutting of skirting / unblocking of the plant

Execute planned maintenance tasks

**Managing the team**

Assign work

Monitor performance

Train and develop team members

Maintain discipline in the team

Proper communication

Training & development of team

**Administration**

Completes all reports regarding safety, production, personnel, quality control and maintenance.

Complete incident/accident

Ensure disciplinary records to be up to date

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Trade test-Artisan - MQA/MERSETA preferred

**EXPERIENCE**

Preferably previous exposure to the environment in Mining/Mineral processing, Factories.

3 years Artisan experience

**SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**

Excellent teamwork

Excellent diagnostic skills

Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to work unsupervised, take ownership and accountability

Good planning and organising skills.

Good Interpersonal skills

Good communications skills

Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Valid Driver’s License will be added advantage.
