SAP Specialist Data Services-insurance Analyser

We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.

**What will you do?**
- As a team member in the SGT SAP CoE team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and implementing data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions within the SAP Finance landscape using SAP Data Services, Automic and the SAP finance solutions (SAP Sub-Ledger).
- This role requires a deep understanding of SAP accounting / finance, workflow management, SAP Data Services, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, and other IT professionals to ensure the effective and efficient movement of data across the organization.

**Data Integration and ETL Development**:

- Design, develop, support, and maintain data integration, specifically between SAP Finance solutions and the various sources and targets using SAP Data Services.
- Ongoing functional support and maintenance to the SAP Finance landscape (SAP Sub-Ledger).
- Extract data from various sources, transform it to meet business requirements, and load it into targets. Ensure data quality and integrity as well as reporting throughout the ETL process.**SAP Finance Specific Tasks**:

- Work with SAP Subledger and General Ledger data models and understand their specific requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration of data into and out of the SAP Subledger and General Ledger, adhering to best practices and performance standards.
- Support data migration projects to SAP Finance solutions, ensuring accurate and efficient data transfer. Support and ongoing maintenance to the SAP Sub-Ledger.**Performance Tuning and Optimization**:

- Optimize ETL workflows for performance and scalability within the SAP landscape.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues promptly. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing ETL processes in the SAP landscape.**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the SAP landscape.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless data integration across systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other team members. 24/7 Support to the accounting landscape to ensure batch processing runs smoothly and with least downtime. (This is done on a rotational basis between team members and requires the individual to be available 24/7 for the appointed standby period as per the schedule to ensure that “breakdowns” are dealt with in a timeously manner when the monitoring operators contact them to intervene in critical abended workflows and/or processes.)**Data Governance and Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
- Implement data quality and data governance best practices within the SAP landscape.

- Qualification
- Matric
- A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology would be an advantage.
- Certification in SAP Data Services and or SAP Finance solutions (Subledger or General Ledger) focusing on a Functional Analyst role.

**Experience**
- Related experience as a SAP Data Services Specialist or similar role, with a focus on finance or insurance.
- Proven experience with:

- SAP Data Services, including data integration, ETL, and data quality processes in accounting environments.
- SQL, data modeling, and database management.
- SAP Sub-Ledgers.
- Cloud platforms and big data technologies
- SAP tools such as SAP HANA, SAP IA, SAP BW, SAP BODS, and SAP ECC.
- SAP IA (Insurance Analyzer) and or SAP PaPM.
- Supporting and implementation of SAP systems.

**Knowledge and skills**
- Strong understanding of data integration and ETL concepts, especially within Finance.
- Proficiency in SAP Data Services and related tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices within SAP finance.
- Knowledge of accounting and accounting processes.
