SAP Platform Services Lead

Sanlam Life and Savings consists of the following business units Retail Mass, Corporate, Risk and Savings, Glacier and various business enabling functions. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the four clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.

**What will you do?**
- When there are changes to technology, platforms, software, integration or future roadmaps that introduces change to a technical landscape, things can get complicated quickly.

Having visibility of all SAP Platforms related projects, programmes, roadmaps and initiatives in a central place massively increases the chances of being successful. The SAP Platforms Management function comprises of all changes / initiatives that impacts the current Sanlam SAP Estate. It endeavours to pro-actively prioritise, investigate, assess and manage initiatives that impacts the current Sanlam SAP landscape to ensure stability from a technology / platform and resource perspective.
- The SAP Centre of Expertise needs to be aware via established channels and forums of all projects and programmes to meet strategic and tactical objectives regarding the management of SAP Platforms.

**What will make you successful in this role?**
- Proactively support risk management within the SAP platforms portfolio by ensuring policies, processes and procedures are aligned to established governance principles.
- Ensure pro-active systems monitoring which includes jobs, interfaces, data volume management, custom code management and integration
- Provide solutions to new and existing business requirements (projects) are aligned to best-fit relevant to Sanlam SAP platform and aligned to agreed roadmaps.
- Ensure that platforms and management reporting is produced in a timely manner and aligned to the agreed communications plan for all relevant stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with SAP CoE Technical Leads, SGT, SAP Solution Architects and SAP Basis teams, to define and implement continuous improvement plans and support Head: SAP CoE to drive collaboration across the Sanlam SAP Platform.
- Ensure that the shared Sanlam SAP landscape is centrally managed while working very closely with SAP Basis
- Ensure that the Sanlam SAP Landscape is upgraded and updated at all times according to best practices
- Ensure assessment, prioritisation, alignment and execution of SAP platforms initiatives and roadmaps (one centralised roadmap for SAP CoE)
- Support efforts to meet SAP CoE Service Level Agreements
- Support and input to SAP CoE Management regarding funding required for SAP platforms and roadmaps initiatives
- Qualification
- Matric
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related

**Experience**
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an IT environment
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in SAP

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of:

- SAP development concepts, guidelines and SAP architecture
- Complex IT environments (technical, security, business)
- IT Service Management principles and frameworks (ITIL 4)
- Project & programme management including methods and tools
- Compliance and IT governance frameworks
