Job Description
To manage product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle by gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements. The main product focus areas are Traditional and Structured Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance (including invoice discounting), and Escrow Agreements.
- Provide input into the budget and manage and report on budget usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters
- Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
- Conduct product research for the acquisition of data, information, knowledge, and business intelligence in the Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance product domains. As well as the assessment of internal end-to-end product processes effectiveness, regulatory, economic, political, and social drivers across multiple jurisdictions related to the Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance product scope. Keep a pulse on importers' and exporters’ evolving banking needs and package core services to meet those needs. Deep knowledge of the banking environment
- Define and execute management product strategies for the Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance products and/or services and/or enhancements to existing Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance products and or services. This responsibility will include selecting appropriate channels through which these products will be delivered and scoping the high-level product requirements for those channels; agreeing on budgets and targets for the product, and ensuring adequate resourcing is available.
- Utilizing the intelligence gained through product and environmental research for value creation i.e. understanding the impact of the environment on the current and future product competitiveness and identifying new opportunities. This will include engagement with internal and external stakeholders such as clients, industry specialists, segment specialists, and sales.
- Create solutions to meet customer demands to deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements in the area of accountability
- Identify opportunities to expand customer base with potentially profitable customers
- Prepare Business Requirement Specifications for new product developments and drive innovation around the product development and product management cycle
- Digitise the customer journey throughout the product lifecycle by staying on top of technology developments in Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance products and working with IT and Vendors to develop the Portal product and back end. This includes liaison with the Program Management office, vendors, technology, legal, and compliance. Implement Trade Finance, Escrow Agreements, and Supply Chain Finance solutions.
- Share insights on the products' performance and trends in the market
- Present product developments at various committees to obtain sign-off
- Facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products, processes, and services
- Manage internal and external stakeholders' awareness of product offerings and in need provide relevant training and training material
- Ensure all processes are followed diligently on new products and any product enhancements
- Ensure Service Level Agreements across BU's are achieved and maintained
- Complete and/or review comprehensive product documents such as Business Cases, Work Request, Change Request, Product information documents and business reports
- Define the go-to-market and pricing strategies for the various products and customer segments
- Engage and leverage with the pricing team for the implementation of annual re-pricing processes and recommend appropriate pricing solutions
- Provide guidelines to ensure pricing reviews are set for market competitiveness and financial growth Implement campaigns to facilitate future growth
- Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own and employee development
