**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Department: Asset Management Department**

**Reporting to: COO**

**Salary: Will depend on your current salary and experience, competitive salary for the right person, will need to fulfil most of the criteria below to be shortlisted for the position.**

You will be fully responsible for the Asset Administration of the group. The critical responsibilities include ensuring completeness and accuracy of daily CIS and asset pricing and reporting. Excellent client service differentiates the business, which requires an ongoing commitment to improving processes, staff management and training, as well as regulatory awareness. Strong planning and execution skills are essential to ensure delivery to daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Daily pricing and trades:

- Focus on controls, exception reporting and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of prices and reports.
- Identifying and improving efficiencies to ensure timeous, highest quality delivery.
- Ultimate responsibility to ensure accurate trading via Finswitch and other means available

Monthly Quarterly and regulatory reporting:

- Ensure timeous information-feeds to suppliers for processing.
- Quality control of reporting and dissemination.

Risk control and query/ problem resolution:

- Review and assess risk areas in the business and drive resolution of these in a timely manner.
- Ongoing monitoring of the Asset Administration function and problem resolution.
- Review monthly reports and controls.
- Implementation of financial management mechanisms that minimise business risk.
- Monitor script and cash recons and resolve problems identified.
- Relationship management of internal clients, Trustees/Custodians (CIS), external clients and Regulators on behalf of Asset Administration.

Mentorship & Succession Planning:

- Identify your top performers, offer mentoring relationships and training.
- Identifying top performing employees with the potential to take on more responsibility.
- Being able to provide targeted development opportunities to those with the potential to move into more senior/managerial roles.
- Supporting the leadership to help develop these future managers.
- Outline a clear strategy for the succession and mentorship process.

Ad hoc Project Management:

- Ad hoc project management, monitoring and providing feedback to EXCO.
- Manage new client take-on.
- Interact with executive managers to provide support for key initiatives through information analysis, reports and recommendations.
- Preparation of ad-hoc management and presentation reports.
- Analyse changes and advise accordingly.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Process design geared to create capacity and operational efficiencies.

Other:

- Building and maintaining ongoing relationships with clients.
- Renewing or amending existing policies.
- Daily monitoring of portfolio positions and confirmation that portfolios conform to latest investment.

REMChannel (Investment Functional Head II)
- Manages Assets and heads up one or more product lines, e.g. fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, institutional funds et cetera.
- Monitors domestic and global situations, analysing their effect on investments to ensure the successful management of portfolios.
- Also responsible for monitoring investments after the selection and execution of the investment decision.
- May have supervisory responsibility.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant degree (Accounting, BCom Finance/Business etc.).
- Minimum 10 years relevant working experience within financial services and investment administration.
- Previous management experience is essential.
- Good understand of unitisation and valuations.
- Previous experience in Asset Administration is essential.
- Exposure to Pricing within a Unit Trust environment is essential.
- A working knowledge of Fundamental Software is advantageous.
- Exposure to Finswitch functionality is useful.
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements in Africa and offshore will be advantageous.
- An excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the role.
- Previous operational process design in asset administration is advantageous.
